This year I preformed for my High School Elective, it was called DTASC. Now this elective was about theatre and preforming. So during November there was a competition that was from students that like to preform. DTASC was something that High Tech High did for a long time, but never made it past the first round. I was with my friends, Ashley, Violet, and Kai. We did the section of Comedy, which was a little hard for us. Our play was about the internet, and how people can get lost in it. I was the main character, while Ashley was google, Violet was YouTube, and Kai was adds. 
To our surprise, we passed the first round, the first people to pass the first round and get into the semi-finals. I was so excited and so was everyone else, technically for High Tech High, we made history. We didn't make it past the semi-finals, but it was still fun. Learning new things that I like it was fun and I liked to preform in front of everyone. 

For the last five years I have been doing a camp at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. If you don't know what Scripps Institution is, well it is a school just for Oceanography. Any kind of branch in Oceanography, to Marine Biology to Marine Engineer. Now I did five years of their camps, to studying with a real Marine Engineer to just learning how to surf. Their camps rang in lots of things, to what you want to learn and how you want to learn it. 
I want to be a Marine Engineer, so going to these camps and learning about Oceanography is a great help. Learning about how they do things at the Institution is helpful too because that is the school that I want to go to. It helps with my what I want to learn, and they show us lots of different places inside of the Institution. Like how we went into their personal library that is three stories tall, or their collection which contains almost every invertebrate known to man.
